What are Projects?
Projects enables you to keep the background context and prompt foundation persistent so you don't have to recreate it with every new Assistant chat. The built in team comments also enables you to collaborate on similar matters with other Ruli users in your instance so you can benefit more from your team's institutional knowledge.
Projects allows your team to effectively bookmark context for Assistant chats so they can stop having to recreate the same foundation on every matter. Each project can have it's own specific prompt, context, chat history, and background documents that set the stage for other Assistant Chats of a similar matter. Ask your question or make your instruction without having to "set the stage" every time.
Key Features
Project Creation and Organization
Create a new Project for each client, matter, deal, or long-running legal initiative.
Add a title, description, and background context to guide the Assistant and team members.
Persistent File Storage - “Like a Digital Twin”
Upload contracts, policies, playbooks, diligence materials, or research once. They remain available and indexed for all associated chats in the Project.
Ongoing, Contextual Conversations
Start multiple Assistant Chat threads within a Project—each tailored to a specific deliverable (e.g., contract review, research memo, negotiation point).
The Assistant leverages all Project files and context with each new question or drafting request.
Collaboration Across Users
Team members can view, comment, contribute to, and continue work in shared Projects, supporting coverage and continuity.
Project-Specific Knowledge Retention
No need to repeat instructions or re-upload documents—Assistant remembers the Project’s files and prior conversations, streamlining follow-up work.
Ideal for projects that span weeks or months, such as regulatory reviews, major transactions, policy overhauls, or litigation preparation.
Projects hold everything together
Chats, files, instructions, and team members now live in one place, allowing private views for your own work, shared views for the team. Search across all of it without hunting through a dozen open tabs.
Context you set once, used everywhere
Add your matter documents, DataGrid outputs, Monitor reports, and standing instructions to a project. Every chat that follows draws from that foundation automatically. Ruli answers based on true, bespoke legal context for your deal, not a generic prompt.
Group related conversations, research, and documents under a single umbrella.
Add context, files, and instructions once, eliminating repetitive upload and background tasks.
Maintain persistent context—Assistant remembers project history and prior outputs, making every subsequent interaction more targeted and efficient.
Facilitate collaboration and seamless hand-offs between team members across sessions and devices.
Shared assistant chats for the whole team
Add teammates to a project, manage their access, and work from the same context. When a colleague runs a research chat, you can see it. When you add a new source, it's there for everyone. The team works from the same version of the truth.
Comments and team chat inside every project
Leave notes, flag decisions, and mention colleagues directly inside the project. Notifications keep follow-ups visible. The conversation about the work stays with the work, not buried in email threads no one can find two weeks later.
Custom instructions that actually hold
Tell Ruli what it needs to know about your company's positions, your risk tolerance, and the specific parameters of a deal. Those guardrails stay active across every chat in the project. You stop repeating yourself. Ruli stops asking.
