We are excited to announce our launch of Ruli Contract Lens, now available as a add-on to your Ruli Platform.
Introducing Contract Lens 📃
Your contracts, finally searchable
Contract Lens turns your repository into something you can actually interrogate; ask a question in plain English, flag deviations from your standard playbook, and let agreements organize themselves automatically. Your contracts become something your team can actually rely on.
Use Cases:
Before Q3 starts, Contract Lens surfaces every agreement set to auto-renew or expires in the next 60 days.
A diligence request lands: ask Contract Lens to show every MSA that deviates from your standard liability cap.

What's New in Ruli
1. Shared History Across Ruli Assistant and Word
Your context travels with you.
Your Word chats now live inside Ruli natively. Save any Word chat to your Knowledge Base or a Project, pick up the conversation in the web Assistant with the original document attached as context.
Use Cases:
You redlined a vendor SaaS agreement in Word on Friday, and Monday you need to brief the deal team on the open issues. Pick the conversation back up in your Ruli Web Assistant with the original document still attached instead of reconstructing what you flagged.
The same clause question keeps resurfacing across deals. Save that Word chat to a Project or your Knowledge Base so the analysis is waiting the next time the issue comes up.
2. Word Extension: Form Filling
The Word extension now fills your templates directly from your deal documents, so no one on your team is copying terms into an MSA, NDA, or offer letter line by line.
Skip the prompt entirely: Ruli reads your source material and fills the agreement itself, no complex prompt needed.
Your documents are the input: Attach a term sheet, a signed agreement, or any reference document. Ruli pulls the terms straight from it, no re-typing what's already in writing.
You decide what it reads: Point Ruli to the sections of your source document that matter to this agreement, rather than letting it scan everything.
Use Cases:
Sales just closed and needs the order form today – pricing, term, and SLAs all live in the negotiated MSA and the approved quote. So, just attach both docs, point Ruli at the terms, and the order from fills itself, instead of you copying figures across three documents between other fires.
It’s the 10th NDA request this week and the intake form already has everything – parties, purpose, term. Ruli reads the intake and fills your standard template, so routine paper stops eating the time you should be spending on the deals that actually carry risk
3. Multiple Company Profiles
The right instructions, for the right entity, every time.
Set up multiple company profiles, switch between them as needed, and trust that the guidance Ruli applies always reflects the right entity, jurisdiction, or matter type. Now live across Settings, Projects, Web Assistant, Monitor, Word, and Assistant.
Use Cases:
You paper contracts for the US parent and two foreign subsidiaries, each with different governing-law defaults and signing authority. Switch profiles and Ruli applies the right entity’s positions automatically. So there’s no manually reminding which subsidiary you’re working on.
One day you’re reviewing for the operating company, the next for the holding entity. Profiles keep each entity’s jurisdiction and preferred terms straight, so guidance never bleeds from one matter type into another.
4. DataGrid: Compare Bulk Contracts Against a Playbook
DataGrid now grades an entire stack of contracts against your playbook, clause by clause, in one view. Reviewing each agreement side by side with your standard becomes a scan of a single tabular review.
How it works:
Grade every clause: Each one is classified as Match, Minor Deviation, Major Deviation, or Not Applicable with a deviation severity (High/Medium/Low), the document's actual position, how it compares to the standard, and where it was found.
Understands fallbacks: An acceptable fallback scores the clause as a Match.
See where you stand: Get an alignment score per document and the standards you deviate from most.
Stays in sync: Edit the playbook and Ruli flags the grid as out of date, then re-scores everything in one step.
Ask about it: Ruli Analyst understands the comparison, so you can ask how documents stack up and get answers grounded in the results.
Use Cases:
Leadership wants to know your real exposure across two years of deals signed on customer paper. DataGrid grades the whole stack against your playbooks, scores each agreement, and shows where you conceded the most so now you can brief the business with actual data that you don’t have to manually cobble together.
You just tightened the liability position in your playbook. DataGrid flags the whole grid as out-of-date and re-scores every agreement in one step, so you instantly see which live contracts no longer match your new standard.
5. Pragmatic Review
Negotiation-ready redlines, not a wall of flags.
Every contract is reviewed strictly from your side's perspective, with each issue scored for impact and likelihood so only the risks worth raising at the table surface. For each one, Pragmatic Review proposes a clean, in-place revision with a counterparty-ready comment, while mandatory positions still get your preferred terms and edits stay surgical.
Toggle on Pragmatic Review inside: Review with Playbook, or Red Flags Review
Use Cases:
An inbound order form has 30 issues, but only six are worth a redline given your leverage. Pragmatic Review scores each by impact and likelihood and surfaces just the ones worth raising, with in-place revisions and counterparty-ready comments you can send as-is.
You want to move a low-risk NDA without over-lawyering it. Edits stay surgical while your mandatory positions still get your preferred terms, so you negotiate what matters and let the rest go.
6. Ask Ruli Assistant “How to use Ruli”
Questions about Ruli itself, how a feature works, where a setting lives, what something means, can now go straight to the Assistant. It answers from the Help Center and links you to the full article in one click.
Answers from any public article: Ruli searches every published Help Center article and cites the source.
No curation needed: there's no featured list to maintain. Publish or update an article in Intercom, and the Assistant uses it instantly, nothing to sync.
Note: coverage includes only public articles in our Help Center.
Use Cases:
You want to build your first Playbook but don’t know where to start. Ask Ruli Assistant “how to use Ruli” and get a cited walkthrough directly from the Help Center.
You want to share a Monitor report with your team but can’t remember how. Ask Ruli Assistant and it pulls the current Help Center article on sharing levels and cites it, so you quickly and easily share the report and can focus on what matters.
7. Add Working Documents to Projects
Add your Working Documents to a Project, so you can keep track of drafts and final versions with your team. You can also add DOCX documents to a project directly from Ruli inside MS Word.
Note: Adding Working Documents is separate from Context Documents, and will not be used in the Assistant Project Chats.
Use Cases:
A deal goes through five drafts before signature, and your team keeps asking which version is current. Add each Working Document to the Project so drafts and the final sit in one place the whole team can see.
You finish a redline in Word and want it filed with the matter. Push the DOCX into the Project straight from Ruli inside Word, so there’s no time wasted downloading and re-uploading.
8. New in Assistant: Parallel Multi-Tasking
Assistant now handles multiple tasks at once. Start one, open a new chat, and keep working while the first runs in the background.
Run tasks side by side: Kick off a task in Assistant, then jump to another chat and keep working while the first one runs in the background.
Pick up where it left off: Once done, a blue dot for that chat will be shown in the chat history list
Use Cases:
You start a bulk contract comparison in DataGrid and a business partner Slacks you with an urgent NDA question. Open a second chat and handle it as the comparison keeps running in the background and drops a blue dot when it’s ready. So, a long job never blocks a quick one.
9. Sharper Regulatory Monitoring
Monitor's search got a significant upgrade this month, with better coverage, better ranking, and finer jurisdictional control.
What improved:
Comprehensive Search Coverage: We’ve expanded our search capacity, allowing for more granular, topic-specific monitoring across your preferred agencies and jurisdictions. This ensures niche legal developments, such as pay equity updates, receive the focused attention they need.
Prioritized Relevance: Our system now more effectively identifies and ranks authoritative sources, ensuring you see the most credible information first.
Granular Jurisdictional Tracking: You can now track municipal ordinances (such as those in NYC or SF) distinctly from state-level regulations, giving you precise visibility into local legal requirements.
Streamlined Interface: We’ve made subtle design updates to the status and source labels to help you scan updates more efficiently.
Use Cases:
Your company hires in NYC and SF, where local ordinances move faster than state law. Monitor now tracks municipal rules distinctly from state regulations, so a new city pay-transparency requirement doesn’t get buried in a broader state feed.
You need to watch pay equity specifically, not all of employment law. Monitor’s expanded topic-specific coverage keeps the lens narrow and ranks the most authoritative sources first, so you open your report to credible developments that actually matter.
Community Update - July 2026
Six events. Five cities. 🌆
One conversation that kept coming back: how do you run a serious legal function when the team isn't getting bigger?
We spent June in the room with GCs and legal ops leaders at Consero General Counsel Forum, Counselwell Networking Dinner and Rooftop Party, L Suite Legal AI Conference, OLC Legal Leaders Dinner, and In House Connect San Diego Mixer.
The question wasn't whether to bring AI in. It was how to do it without adding headcount to manage the tools. That's exactly the problem Ruli was built for.
We’ve returned more energized than ever to continue building for this community. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!
