3 Big Product updates that elevate your Ruli experience.
1. Assistant now runs as an agent, connected to 13+ apps
We heard from you, our Ruli community, that legal context is scattered across many channels and it’s difficult to gather and synthesize for your workflow.
Assistant now pulls from all of it directly, with citations. That means a daily digest across email, calendar, and Slack ranked by matter, or a weekly brief on where a matter stands across contracts, compliance, and open action items.
Example Tasks:
Daily Digest
Ask Assistant to give you a daily digest of work split across your Email, Calendar, Slack, Asana, Jira, HubSpot etc. Assistant merges all four into one ranked list by matter.
Weekly Legal Brief
Run analysis on last week’s progress on your legal matters across contracts, product compliance, meeting action items, or other to dos.
Security Questionnaire and Diligence Response
A DPA concern flagged in Slack, the NDA in Gmail, the account history in Contract Lens, three pieces that never sit together. Assistant follows the thread across all three and answers directly.
Try our pre-built Task Prompts with Integrations, in the Prompt Library
The Tasks folder in Ruli's Prompt Library holds the full set, from Counterparty Snapshot to Renewal and Notice Window Watch, ready to run without writing a prompt from scratch. Open Ruli, go to Open Prompt Library > Task Folder, and pick one.
Any of these can be added to any prompt, not just the ones above. Name the integrated tool in the instruction (for example, "check my Slack for..." or "pull from Asana...") and Assistant reaches it directly.
2. Interactive Drafting
Drafting used to mean a blank page and a detailed prompt. Now Ruli converses with you, asks what it needs to know first, builds a plan, fills in context, and drafts with your organization's own knowledge and formatting built in.
Use Cases:
Draft agreement from scratch. Ruli asks the essential questions, drafts from any documents or context you provide, and exports styled to your firm's DOCX template.
You’re drafting an Amendment, SOW/Schedule, or a specific clause to a master agreement. Upload your master agreement and chat with the Assistant to create your draft.
3. Four shortcuts for the most common actions
We baked in our Ruli logic into the background – of course, you can always add additional context or instructions.
Research: Start a legal question by topic or jurisdiction, or set up ongoing tracking of a regulation in Monitor.
Summarize: Add a document and get a structured summary back, with an optional focus like obligations, risks, or commercial terms.
Review: Review for red flags or against a playbook, scoped to the full document or just the redline, with a lighter Pragmatic review for a faster read.
Due Diligence: Run one set of questions across a batch of documents, optionally against your playbook or template agreement.
Tip: A prompt or document typed into the main chat first also works!. Clicking a shortcut after carries both over automatically.
Ruli Customer Referral Program
Our Customer Referral Program is going strong thanks to you. Refer someone to book a demo, you will earn $100 for each one booked, $1,000 if that person becomes a customer within three months, and an invite to our end-of-year dinner for referrers and their referrals.
Here's the kind of work worth referring:
Emails now supported in Datagrid, Unlocking Internal Investigation and other use cases.
DataGrid now accepts email files. Load a set and Ruli reads the full thread history, then extracts whatever you need into columns: sender, date, subject matter, dollar figures, commitments made, or anything else you define. Every row links back to its source email. Ruli Analyst answers questions across the whole set in plain language.
Internal Investigations Use Case:
Every investigation starts with someone reading the email. Load the mailboxes into DataGrid and build the review around what the matter calls for: issue, people involved, monetary amounts, misconduct indicators, and concealment language, each row traceable back to the original message. A pre-built template is there if you want to start from ours.
Investigations are one use case. We are looking forward to seeing how your team expands its diligence work now that emails load into DataGrid as files.
Additional Product Updates
1. Focus a Monitor report on Specific Sources
We received feedback from you that you wanted a way to specific websites (sources) that Ruli Monitor would focus on to check for regulatory or legal updates. Now you can ask Monitor to focus exclusively or simply place more attention on a list of sites up to 20 per Monitor report.
Choose how strict: Lock a Monitor to only your listed sources, or scan the open web with your sources, higher weighted for analysis.
Add a source in seconds: Type a domain or paste a URL. Subdomains count as one source (dol.gov, news.dol.gov, www.dol.gov). Up to 20 sources per Monitor.
Edit anytime: Set sources when you create a report or update them later. The changes will apply on all future runs.
Nothing missed silently: Every report links the exact pages for easy validation.
Better at tough sites: Blocked scans now escalate automatically, so anti-bot government sites come through more reliably.
Note: Source rules apply to all future Monitor's runs.
Use Cases:
FTC Guidance
Negative Option Rule and Click-to-Cancel: active rulemaking and enforcement area at FTC for last 2 years.
Endorsement Guides: FYC has been actively enforcing disclosure requirements for paid endorsements and reviews for influencers.
How: Point Monitor sources to focus on FTC.gov on this topic. Optionally attach your marketing compliance policy for impact analysis.
Product Safety Standards: To keep up to date with recalls, safety, and reporting requirements for consumer products - point Monitor at CPSC.gov (Consumer Product Safety Commission)
2. Monitor: Get real time reports
Monitor is one of our most loved features by Ruli customers. We’re doubling down on improvements. Now your first report generates in real time and covers the last six months, so your team gets answers the moment a question comes in.
Instant first report: Ruli builds a full report on the spot, covering the last six months. Scheduled reports keep updating weekly or monthly.
Update Now: Generate a fresh report on demand, once a day per Monitor.
Watch it build live: See each step (finding sources, reading sources, analyzing developments) and the exact date range covered.
Jump between reports: A coverage bar shows every report as a clickable segment with older reports staying in History.
Fully asynchronous: Kick off a report and walk away. Ruli will ping you when ready.
Straight to your report: Ruli will take you directly to the new report the instant it’s ready, and get an email when your first and scheduled reports land.
Note: Update Now is limited to once a day per Monitor, and manual refreshes don't send an email - only your first report and scheduled reports do.
Use Cases:
Get up to speed and monitor: Read the first monitor report to get up to speed on the last 6-months of the topic, and then continue to monitor.
Pre-meeting refresh: Counsel prepping for a call in an hour runs Update Now and walks in current.
3. Word Extension: Business Issue Lists
Contract issue lists are built for lawyers, which makes them hard to hand off to the business as is. Now, after any Contract Review against AI or your own playbook, Ruli generates two versions, so your team can hand business stakeholders exactly what they need without rewriting a thing.
Full Issues List: Your complete list, for legal detail
Business Issues List: Summarizes commercial matters in executive summary style
Use Cases:
Getting sign-off from the business: Send Business Issues List instead of the full redline, so the approver sees the commercial terms without legalese.
Post-signature obligation tracking: Cross-functional leads keep Business Issues List on hand after signing to track ongoing commercial obligations.
4. Datagrid: Improved Auto-Generated Due Diligence Reports
Now Datagrid auto-creates a full due diligence report with pre-populated questions, suggesting anywhere from 5 to 25 based on the task you describe.
Auto-generated report: Datagrid builds a due diligence report on its own, with questions pre-populated before you start.
Right-sized question set: Ruli suggests between 5 and 25 questions, scaled to the task you describe.
Built from your documents: Questions are shaped to extract or analyze the positions actually present in your documents.
Use Cases:
Fast start on a new deal: Legal ops kicks off diligence on a new target and gets a right-sized question set instead of building one from scratch.
Scoping a smaller deal correctly: Counsel reviewing a straightforward asset purchase gets a lean question set instead of a checklist built for a much bigger deal.
Scaling up for a complex deal: Counsel running diligence across a large document set gets up to 25 questions, sized to the complexity of the transaction.
5. Monitor’s Improved Notification Controls
Choose what gets emailed to you: Select which updates you want (Monitor Summary, Policy Impact Analysis, Monitored Questions). Existing Monitors stay subscribed to all three until changed.
Redesigned email notifications: Executive summary led, and skips any report without updates
Pick your report day: Set a weekday or day of the month. Existing Monitors run as-is until you pick one.
Granular access control: Monitor access is now managed separately from Assistant in Team Management, enable or disable each independently.
Note: Notification settings are per Monitor, so you can be strict on a noisy one and keep everything on for a critical one.
6. New DOCX Export Formatting (Ruli Legal Format or your own company style)
Save your Assistant answer as a DOCX in a new Ruli Legal Format, or upload a document to mirror your own company style for contracts.
7. Improved: Project Context carries from Assistant Web to Word
Project instructions, sources, and company profile apply to Word Assistant conversations and actions, matching what's set on the Web.
8. Improved: Continue Web Chats in Word
Web to Word or Word to Web – Start a chat in Assistant web, then continue it in Word, or the other way around, with the same context and recommended edits carrying over either direction.
9. Email Uploads Supported in Assistant and DataGrid
Assistant and DataGrid now support .msg and .eml files (Gmail and Outlook). You can download emails and add them into Ruli for analysis or additional context.
Alternatively, search your Gmail or Outlook via Assistant and our new connector integration.
Contract Lens
Contract Lens turns your repository into a living knowledge base for your contracts; flag deviations from your market standard or playbook and let agreements organize themselves automatically.
Contract Lens is an add-on to the Ruli Platform that feeds into Ruli Assistant and Ruli in Word to provide you with accurate, up-to-date and granular knowledge across all of your contracts.
Teams interested in adding Contract Lens can reach out to their account manager.
Our Intelligent Repository now works with Salesforce. You can search all your contracts in plain language, get Deviation Analysis based on market standards or your playbooks.
